Full Job Description

Job purpose

The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness amongst our veterans.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Systems & Risk Analyst to bridge the gap between finance, accounting, and technology. In this role, you will be tasked to protect our financial data integrity, ensuring that our systems are optimized, our reporting is accurate, and our financial workflows are seamless. You will leverage basic accounting principles and advanced technical skills to troubleshoot complex data systems and mitigate financial operational risks.

Duties and responsibilities

Extract, filter, and update financial data in spreadsheets or systems. Help clean and organize data to ensure accuracy and assist in preparing routine reports for internal teams.
Assist in monitoring data for errors or inconsistencies that could pose risks. Help maintain documentation and escalate concerns to senior team members when needed.
Assist with the day-to-day use and basic maintenance of financial systems. Help troubleshoot minor issues and support system updates under guidance from senior team members.
Perform basic account reconciliations and data checks to help identify discrepancies. Report findings and support the team in resolving issues.
Follow established procedures to ensure accurate data entry and handling. Support the team in maintaining data quality and adhering to internal policies.
Support the review of existing workflows by gathering information and user feedback. Assist in making small improvements to processes to help increase efficiency and reduce errors.
Provide general support to users of financial systems by helping answer questions and resolve simple issues to keep daily operations running smoothly.
High level of discretion when handling sensitive financial data.
Ability to translate user needs into technical specifications.
A "risk-first" mindset regarding data security and internal controls.

Qualifications

Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field.
Prior experience in account reconciliation, financial analysis, systems administration, or risk management accounting preferred.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (General Ledger, Accruals, Reconciliation, and Financial Statements).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, Complex Formulas). Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
Critical Thinking: Strong ability to troubleshoot complex, heavy-data systems and resolve technical issues under tight deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to bridge the gap between technical IT requirements and financial business needs.
Detail oriented.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
