Part-Time Children’s Choir Conductor
Oratory Parishes (Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Boniface) is seeking a part-time Children’s Choir Conductor beginning in September 2026.
The Oratory Parishes Children’s Choir is a new choir for children ages 6–10, dedicated to fostering a love of singing while enriching the liturgical life of the parish.

Responsibilities
- Direct weekly rehearsals for children ages 6–10.
- Prepare the choir for Sunday Masses throughout the season.
- Teach healthy vocal technique and basic musicianship.
- Select and prepare age-appropriate sacred repertoire.
- Create a positive, engaging, and welcoming rehearsal environment.
- Communicate with parents as needed.
- Collaborate with parish staff.
Schedule
Weekly Rehearsals
- Mondays, 4:45–5:45 PM
- September–June (following the school calendar)
Sunday Masses (approximately seven per season)
- 8:30 AM – Rehearsal
- 9:30 AM – Mass
- Concludes at approximately 10:30 AM
An accompanist will be provided for all rehearsals and Masses.
Qualifications
- Experience conducting children’s choirs.
- Strong conducting and rehearsal skills.
- Ability to work well with children and families.
- Familiarity with Catholic liturgy is preferred.
- Degree in music or equivalent professional experience preferred.
Compensation
- $120 per call.
- Weekly rehearsals are compensated as one call.
- Sunday Masses are compensated as two calls ($240 total), including the rehearsal and Mass.
