From novice to expert, GSH employees are ambitious, professional, and accountable. GSH is currently looking to add a Quality Control Manager for our client located in New York, NY.

Position Summary

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for independent quality assurance and performance oversight of all janitorial and appearance-care services at Client location. Unlike a traditional supervisory role that directs daily cleaning crews, this position exists solely to inspect, document, score, escalate, and drive continuous improvement. The Quality Control Manager protects Client’s operational and appearance standards at a 24/7 mission-critical control facility by providing an objective verification layer that does not report to the day-to-day custodial workforce.

The Quality Control Manager is GSH’s on-site quality authority for the contract. The individual will use iAuditor and Syteline CloudSuite to maintain an auditable record of inspections, deficiencies, KPIs, and corrective actions, and will serve as the primary quality liaison with Client stakeholders and GSH regional leadership.

Essential Duties

Conduct independent daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc quality inspections of all client space types (offices, corridors, restrooms, common areas, support spaces, and specialty areas) using standardized iAuditor checklists.
Capture timestamped photo documentation of both compliant and deficient conditions and generate auditable inspection reports available to Client.
Score conditions against defined Client and GSH appearance standards; track and report Key Performance Indicators including Appearance & Cleanliness Score, Restroom Supply Compliance, Response Time Compliance, Deficiency Closure Rate, Recurring Deficiency Rate, and Inspection Completion Rate.
Log all deficiencies in iAuditor with a clear owner and target close date; review open items daily and escalate to the Regional Operations Manager if not closed on schedule.
Drive corrective action and continuous improvement, including additional training, process adjustment, staffing recommendations, or equipment changes when recurring issues are identified.
Prepare and distribute daily exception reports, weekly iAuditor summaries, and the monthly Quality Performance Report (KPI dashboard, trend analysis, and improvement actions) to Client and GSH leadership.
Provide immediate notification of any safety-related or high-visibility incident and support emergency cleaning response documentation.
Log reactive and special cleaning work orders in Syteline CloudSuite; track response and completion times to maintain an auditable service history.
Coordinate with the custodial delivery partner on standards, deficiencies, and corrective action without assuming day-to-day crew supervision.
Maintain site-specific inspection templates, approved product awareness, and compliance with Client access, security, and safety protocols.
Participate in mobilization activities including baseline facility walk-throughs, checklist customization, and the first 30/60/90-day quality reviews.
Foster a safety-first work environment and adhere to all GSH policies, procedures, and ISO quality management requirements (ISO 9001, 14001, 41001, 45001, 50001).
Serve as the on-site quality point of contact for Client stakeholders and provide superior, professional communication.

Minimum Requirements

Five (5) or more years of experience in facilities quality control, janitorial/custodial quality assurance, or facilities contract management in a high-occupancy transportation environment, or equivalent
Demonstrated experience conducting structured inspections, documenting findings, and driving corrective action to close
Working knowledge of CMMS and digital inspection platforms (iAuditor, Syteline, Maximo, or equivalent)
Working knowledge of OSHA (10/30 preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and mobile inspection applications
Ability to obtain and maintain required Client site security access credentials and complete all mandated safety training
Ability to work on-site full time at the Client site in New York City

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting transportation or other 24/7 mission-critical public facilities
Prior experience working with a union subcontracted janitorial workforce
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management principles
Experience preparing client-facing quality dashboards and monthly performance reports
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical & Work Environment

This is a site-based role at an active control facility. The Quality Control Manager will walk the building throughout the shift, including restrooms, support spaces, and public-facing areas. The position requires the ability to observe work in progress, capture photo documentation, and communicate findings in real time. Standard office tasks (reporting, dashboard review) are performed on site.
