The Role

This is a high-activity, new-business sales role for someone who is energized by the hunt: networking, prospecting, cold calling, and getting in front of new people every single day. You won’t inherit an existing book of business; you’ll build one, market by market, relationship by relationship.

You’ll be on the road and on the phone constantly: attending networking events, knocking on doors, scheduling Lunch & Learns, and turning cold prospects into warm relationships with REITs, property managers, and facility leaders. Our sales cycle is service-led: inspections, preventative maintenance, and leak response open the door, and that consistent activity is what eventually earns us the bigger-ticket roof replacement projects, which can take 3–6 months to close.

This role reports to the VP of Revenue and works alongside the Customer Experience & Marketing teams. The role is built for someone who is tenacious, resilient, and motivated by uncapped earning potential, not someone looking for a high base salary or a ready-made pipeline. Commercial roofing experience is not required. We can teach you roofing; sales skills and a strong work ethic are what matters most.

What You’ll Do

Make consistent outbound prospecting calls to identify and qualify new opportunities with private REITs, property managers, building owners & managers, and facility leaders.
Attend weekly networking events to build relationships and expand your professional network in the territory.
Schedule and host Lunch & Learn events to introduce prospects to our service offerings.
Conduct site visits to assess client needs, build trust, and identify service and project opportunities.
Log all activities, contacts, and opportunities in the CRM and meet weekly activity requirements.
Follow up persistently on proposals and quotes, handling objections and moving deals through a long sales cycle.
Lead with service: sell inspections, preventative maintenance, and leak response as the entry point into long-term client relationships.
Develop new accounts from the ground up in a new market, building a personal pipeline from scratch.
Represent the company at industry events and trade shows to build visibility and generate leads.
Provide regular updates on activity, pipeline, and forecasts to the leadership team.

Performance Expectations

This is an activity-driven role. Success is measured by consistent weekly effort, not just closed deals. You’ll be expected to:

Make a set number of phone calls each day and track touchpoints in the CRM.
Attend networking events weekly and build new relationships in the local market.
Complete a set number of site visits per week.
Schedule and run Lunch & Learn events on a regular monthly cadence.
Follow up on every open proposal until it’s closed, won, or lost; no opportunity left unattended.
Build and maintain a healthy, growing pipeline of new accounts in your market.

Qualifications, Education & Skills

2+ years of outside sales, business development, or B2B sales experience required. Commercial roofing, construction, or facility services experience is not required; we’ll teach you the roofing side, but sales skills and a proven sales track record are a must.
A true hunter mentality: you’re energized by cold calling, networking, and chasing new business, not managing an existing portfolio.
Comfortable handling rejection and objections, and persistent in following up without getting discouraged.
Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated and coachable, with the discipline to hit weekly activity targets consistently.
Comfortable using a CRM and sales reporting tools to track and manage your pipeline.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits and in-person meetings.

Compensation

Base Salary: Competitive base pay, designed for a growth-stage sales role, paired with an uncapped commission structure that rewards activity and results.

Total Compensation: Base pay plus a lucrative, uncapped commission structure, phone allowance, gas allowance, and PTO. Your earning potential grows directly with your activity and pipeline; there is no ceiling.

Location

This position is ideal for candidates who reside in or within 20 miles of Elmwood Park, New Jersey. Candidates are required to be in the office when they’re not out in the field performing site visits or attending client meetings or events.
