Shift Schedule:

Part-time: Saturday & Sunday 11am - 7pm

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Shelter Manager, the Food Service Worker will be responsible for picking up (transporting) prepared food and serving meals to residents, supporting the vision and mission of HONOR. This position performs set up and clean up duties to maintain sanitary conditions in the workplace, follows standard policies and procedures, and complies with regulatory requirements.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items weighing over 50 pounds. Must be flexible with schedule to meet the needs of the clients which will include evenings, weekends, and Holidays. Additional hours may be required to meet client needs.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

High School Diploma or GED.
Valid NYS Driver’s License.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Food service experience preferred.
Bilingual preferred.
Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile people within the facility.
Must present PPD test within 30 days upon hire and then annually upon expiration.
Must receive Food Handler Certificate within 30 days of hire.
