Full Job Description

Established in 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia, Anne Barge is one of the preeminent bridal and special occasion design houses in the United States. Known for combining timeless silhouettes with modern details, Anne Barge uses the most refined fabrics, embellishments, and embroidery, creating beautiful and elegant gowns, separates, and accessories. The collections have been featured internationally in top publications, including Vogue, Martha Stewart Weddings, Brides, The New York Times, Town & Country, Grace Ormonde, WWD, New York Magazine, and many more.

Anne Barge NYC is seeking an experienced Alterations Specialist to join our growing team!
This individual will work closely with clients to assess alteration needs and must be experienced with high-end bridal fabrics and couture construction.

Role Requirements

Minimum 4 years of sewing experience in a bridal alterations environment
Proficient in working with high-end bridal fabrics
Skilled in advanced sewing techniques and fine craftsmanship
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Ability to deliver an outstanding client experience
Comfortable moving throughout the store to conduct fittings; must be able to lift up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, stand, and reach
Confident using technology to track client alterations and process payments accurately
Strong time management skills; must be able to self-direct workload, meet deadlines, and work efficiently
Experience operating industrial sewing machines

Role Responsibilities

Conduct fittings with clients at our flagship store
Assist with alterations customer service issues or concerns
Manages personal fitting schedule, book client appointments, and accurately enter bridal information into the company’s digital platform
Handle all aspects of alterations including adjusting the bust, waist, hips, hemline, and bustle.
Complete alterations with the use of machine sewing, hand finishing, draping, cutting, bustling, pressing
Follow all quality control guidelines and inspect all garments to verify the highest quality condition before delivery
Responds promptly to all customer questions by providing product and service information.
Provide excellent customer service throughout the alterations process; this may also include minor repairs and emergency alterations if needed
Performs duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Application Process:
As part of the application process, we will request examples of alteration work you have completed independently. Initial interviews will be conducted by phone. If your application progresses, you will be invited to an in-person sewing test, scheduled from June 3rd-5th , 2026. Please note: Candidates will not be considered without completing the sewing test and providing work samples.
