Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in Donor care by expertly collecting blood samples and performing venipuncture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing to support donation testing. Your dedication will help deliver exceptional donation outcomes. We are committed to fostering a positive work environment that values precision, compassion, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and blood sampling using proper techniques to ensure donor safety and sample integrity
Collect specimens from donors following established protocols, maintaining aseptic technique throughout the process
Accurately identify donors and label specimens according to laboratory procedures to prevent errors
Obtain vital signs and assess donors physiology to ensure readiness for specimen collection when necessary
Process and handle specimens with care, preparing them for transportation to the laboratory for testing
Provide excellent customer service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during donation.
Maintain detailed records of specimen collection, processing steps, and donor interactions in accordance with company policies

Requirements

the following are preferred but not required, New staff members are trained on site.

Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings with a focus on phlebotomy
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and blood sampling techniques such as venipuncture
Familiarity with laboratory techniques including specimen processing and handling of biological samples
Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience is highly preferred
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
Knowledge of aseptic technique to prevent contamination or infection during specimen collection
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
