Workforce Navigator (Full-Time) – Columbus / Newark, OH

About the Role
The Workforce Program at CLC - The Hive is a transformative experience that equips young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to overcome obstacles and create meaningful futures. This role is about teaching, coaching, mentoring, and building relationships, that lead to real change and prepare individuals for the workforce.
Coaches serve as personal advocates, equipping participants with transferable skills, critical thinking abilities, self-advocacy, and a forward-focused mindset. From academic support to hands-on career preparation, this position requires a proactive approach to engaging with and inspiring young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging, interactive, and hands-on coaching that helps youth and young adults develop essential life and career skills.
- Partner with educational institutions, employers, and local hiring managers to connect participants with work-based learning opportunities and job placements that support career readiness.
- Teach workshops, facilitate discussions, and lead team-building activities to help participants grow.
- Build meaningful relationships and serve as a mentor, motivator, and trusted guide.
- Assist participants in identifying and addressing barriers to success while developing personalized career and life plans.
- Develop and implement customized coaching strategies that support each individual’s education, training, and employment journey.
- Encourage critical thinking, goal-setting, and self-advocacy, helping participants develop confidence and resilience.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with leadership, providing updates on participant progress, challenges, and successes.
- Ensure documentation and reporting meet agency needs and comply with regulations without letting paperwork define the role.
- Participate in regular Coach team meetings, collaborating to enhance program impact.
- Take initiative on special projects and other assignments that contribute to program success.
What We’re Looking For
- A natural leader and educator with the ability to engage, teach, and inspire youth and young adults.
- Experience working in youth-focused coaching, mentoring, education, or community engagement.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Enthusiasm, patience, and a strong ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to simplify complex ideas and make learning fun.
- Knowledge of community resources and how to leverage them for participant success.
- Professionalism in appearance, attitude, and work habits.
- Ability to multitask, think critically, and creatively solve problems.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to measurable impact.
- A valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
