Howard City Veterinary Services is looking for an experienced veterinary professional to join our team as a Full-Time Veterinary Receptionist. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with no weekends.
We are a busy, privately owned small animal practice committed to providing exceptional medical care while delivering outstanding customer service to every client and patient who walks through our doors.
We're looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, organized, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Whether your experience is as a veterinary receptionist, veterinary assistant, or veterinary technician, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and patients with a warm, professional attitude.
- Answer a multi-line phone system promptly and courteously.
- Schedule appointments appropriately while recognizing appointment urgency.
- Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately.
- Process payments and maintain accurate medical records.
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and fellow team members.
- Assist with prescription refill requests and client follow-up calls.
- Educate clients and relay doctor recommendations as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Help keep the daily schedule running smoothly while providing exceptional customer service.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a veterinary clinic is required. Experience as a veterinary receptionist, veterinary assistant, or veterinary technician will be considered.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Comfortable learning and using veterinary practice management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Avimark veterinary software.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medications, vaccines, and common procedures.
- Ability to handle emotionally sensitive situations with compassion and professionalism.
