BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST (BCBA) - Outreach/Public Schools

Start a new rewarding career or continue your career in this field by joining our amazing Birchtree Outreach team in our local public schools! Birchtree is a nonprofit organization that promotes inclusion, independence, and holistic growth for individuals with autism and other diverse abilities. The Outreach Board Certified Behavior Analyst is an essential role that provides technical assistance, program and staff consultation, training, and supervision in public school, home, and community settings. This position collaborates with public school staff, families, caregivers, and Birchtree Clinical Instructors/RBTs to build capacity, support the implementation of effective programming, and promote meaningful progress for students and clients. The Outreach BCBA oversees skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming, closely monitors data to evaluate progress, and modifies interventions as needed to ensure effectiveness. In addition, the Outreach BCBA provides consultation and support to self-pay clients and their families and/or caregivers in home and community settings. Outreach BCBAs report directly to the Outreach Program Director.

Responsibilities Include:

Works in accordance with the BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance Code and BACB Applied Behavior Analysis Treatment of Autism Practice Guidelines
Delivers BCBA services in accordance with all assigned contracts for services
Develops and manages personal schedule based on contracts for services
Meets annual billable expectation
Completes all responsibilities within a framework based on the principles and standards of applied behavior analysis
Designs, implements, and oversees all skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs with a focus on positive programming
Is knowledgeable and maintains an awareness of the contents of students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and all other related reports and evaluations
Actively participates in the development of student IEPs and progress reports when requested by school teams
Designs, implements, and oversees positive behavior support plans and behavior intervention procedures
Designs and implements data collection methods
Analyzes student data to effect program change, maintain program integrity, and to assist with the preparation of student progress reports
Recommends and administers functional behavior assessments and skills-based assessments in accordance with BACB guidelines and following special education processes
Engages in effective ongoing communication and collaboration with school teams, stakeholders, clients, and caregivers
Provides training to parents/caregivers, school, and agency staff, as needed
Provides support, supervision, training, and evaluation of direct instructional staff
Provides supervision to staff enrolled in BCBA programs, following the BACB supervision guidelines as needed
Provides direct supervision to RBTs in accordance with the BACBProfessional and Ethical Compliance Code and keeps documentation of supervision
Provides technical assistance to public school teams in accordance with NH Special Education Procedural Safeguards
Demonstrates and maintains awareness of current restraint and seclusion laws
Provides coaching and positive and corrective feedback to direct instructional staff, including input about expectations of staff working with students
Manages politically sensitive and litigious cases
Attends all staff, management, and other meetings or training as required and actively participates in these meetings
Provides professional development training on ABA and/or autism-related topics as needed
Adheres to, supports, and models all Birchtree policies and procedures for staff with professionalism
Consistently models the Birchtree Philosophy

Qualifications:

The successful Outreach Board Certified Behavior Analyst candidate must have a graduate degree in Behavior Analysis and be certified through the BACB. Must have at least four years of clinical experience and professional training with children and youth with autism. This person must demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with a team. Must demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be flexible, intuitive, and work successfully in a fast-paced and stressful environment and with high levels of autonomy. Must conduct themselves professionally and maintain the confidentiality of information about students and staff issues.

Physical Qualifications:

To perform essential functions of the job, one must be physically capable of standing, stretching, bending, walking, running, and lifting/transporting a minimum of 60 lbs. Must be capable of moving and thinking quickly under stressful situations and able to function in a fast-paced environment.
