Full Job Description

Position: Member Service Associate (MSA)

Role Overview:

The MSA will have a primary focus of providing quality service to our members while conducting front-line transactions on the teller line and/or in the drive through. Provide timely and efficient completion of member transactions while maintaining accurate records and thorough proper handling of all monies assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Represent the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner while providing an exceptional member service experience with all member interactions.
Perform routine member transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers and check cashing.
Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including balancing ATM, executing branch capture, completing branch recap, maintenance of member accounts, processing night depository transactions and acting as the vault teller.
Personally, maintains a balancing record in accordance with the teller balance standards.
Perform services for members to include account inquiries, new account openings, posting transactions, updating member information, problem identification and resolution.
Must be familiar with Credit Union policies and procedures in order to effectively follow security procedures, handle/direct problems, complaints, and special situations
Responsible for attending applicable training classes and completing computer-based training.
Assist with opening and closing the branch by following Credit Union procedures.
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum experience of 1 year in a financial or retail sales environment that involves cash handling, customer service and sales
Provide coverage at other branches when necessary and work Saturday rotation schedule
Attention to detail and basic math skills
Demonstrate good judgement in order to evaluate identities, accounts, checks, and currency.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills and provide exceptional member experience with all member interactions
Ability to communicate with members and others at all levels of the Credit Union, in both written and verbal formats
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point software applications
Candidates must be able to pass a background check including: Credit & Criminal Background.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently requires use of manual dexterity and repetitive motions, primarily with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to occasionally lift and exert force of up to 25 pounds.
