Job Title: Loan Operations Specialist
Salary Range: $17.00 – $21.00 per hour
FLSA Classification: Hourly
Location: Newton, IL

Peoples State Bank is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Loan Operations Specialist to join our team in Newton, IL. This position plays a vital role in supporting the loan department by ensuring accurate loan processing, servicing, and reporting while delivering exceptional customer service.

Position Summary

The Loan Operations Specialist performs duties that support and enhance the overall loan operations function. This includes booking and servicing loans, maintaining accurate records, preparing reports for management, and communicating effectively with the loan department to promote efficient and accurate workflow.

Key Responsibilities

Review and organize loan files to ensure complete documentation and compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements
Accurately book new loans and process loan transactions including payments, reversals, and draw requests
Input and maintain loan information in the bank’s core system in accordance with departmental standards
Scan and maintain loan documentation within the bank’s imaging system
Prepare loan-related reports for management as needed
Assist customers with loan inquiries while maintaining strict confidentiality
Provide exceptional customer service by answering phones and assisting customers with loan-related questions or concerns
Communicate effectively with loan officers and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing

Qualifications & Skills

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service orientation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Ability to work rotating Saturday shifts

Preferred

Previous banking or loan operations experience
Experience with core banking or imaging systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
