Professional Organizer & Move Manager (see link at end to apply)

(Part-Time, Project Based)

You've spent years managing lives, homes, jobs, and projects — along with calendars, cluttered spaces, schedules, and the chaos that comes with having a family, home, career, and life. You're organized by nature, and you're ready to put that to work in a role that means something.

An Organized Life is hiring for a Professional Organizer who wants to start hands-on in Client homes and grow, over time, into a Lead Organizer role: taking point on projects, mentoring other team members, and helping set the standard for our work. You'll start where everyone on our team starts — learning the craft, working alongside Clients and your teammates, building your skills — and as you grow, so does your responsibility, your leadership, and your compensation.

For over 21 years, An Organized Life has been Massachusetts' top professional organizing and move management company, helping Clients bring space, belongings, and life transitions into balance. We support Clients through organizing, moves, holiday decorating, and projects of every kind — from high-touch, bespoke "do it for me" organization to working hands on with busy families and individuals, chronically disorganized, neurodivergent, and ADD/ADHD Clients who need a thoughtful, individualized approach. Our team is small, women-centered, and deeply committed to doing this work with skill and heart.

Confident working with Clients in a consultative manner, guiding them through the work, and eventually, leading a team of your colleagues

Your Growth Path

Trial Phase: Contractor / Foundation (0 - 30 days)

Work alongside a Lead Organizer organizing spaces, supporting move projects assessment for position fit
Exposure to a range of projects, from single-room organizing to full-home support

Phase I + II: Employee / Basic Skills & Move Management (30–90 days)

Take on more independent Client sessions and greater responsibility within projects
Continue organizing and move management work, including downsizing, packing/unpacking, space planning, and move-day coordination
Build experience working with chronically disorganized, neurodivergent, and ADD/ADHD Clients
Contribute to plan writing and research

Phase III: Employee / Lead Organizer (90+ days, performance-based)

Serve as lead point of contact for assigned Clients, from consultation through project wrap-up
Take point on move management and larger organizing projects, making in-the-moment decisions on-site
Direct and mentor other team organizers during sessions and larger projects
Help uphold AOL's standards and flag opportunities to improve processes and Client communication
Advancement is based on skill, reliability, and Client feedback, not just tenure.

Scheduling & Flexibility

Part-time, project-based work
Sessions scheduled weekdays, 9am–5pm, booked 1–4 weeks in advance
Typical schedule: 3–5 days per week (half and/or full days)
Occasional Saturdays may be required during move projects
Once-a-month staff meeting required (4:30–6:30 PM)

What You Bring

A natural instinct for organizing and creating functional, beautiful spaces
Warmth, patience, and strong communication skills with Clients in their homes
Reliability and a genuine desire to grow — this role rewards initiative and consistency
Physical ability to lift, carry up to 25lbs, and be on your feet for extended periods during moves and organizing sessions
A reliable vehicle and willingness to travel to Client homes across Greater Boston and MetroWest
Confidence in yourself and your ability to drive high-value organizing and move projects

Compensation

Trial Phase — $26/hour, 1099 contractor (trial period to explore mutual fit)
Phase I / II — $28/hour, employee, paid training
Phase III — Lead Organizer rate: $30–$35/hour based on experience, performance and project complexity managed
$18/hour for administrative and education-related tasks, at any phase
Advancement to Lead Organizer is performance-based, not automatic or guaranteed on a fixed timeline
