Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN)

Part-Time / Per Diem

Job Overview

Rise Wellness LLC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and clinically skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing integrative and functional medicine practice in New Fairfield, CT.

This is a part-time/per-diem outpatient position ideal for an RN who enjoys providing personalized, one-on-one patient care in a smaller practice environment. The RN will work closely with our providers to support clinical services including IV therapy, injections, phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs, specimen collection, and patient monitoring.

Our practice cares for both adult and pediatric patients with a variety of acute and chronic health concerns. We value a patient-centered approach and strive to create an environment where patients feel heard, comfortable, and well cared for.

Responsibilities

Start and maintain peripheral IVs and administer IV therapies according to provider orders and established protocols.
Monitor patients before, during, and following IV infusions and other treatments.
Administer intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections as ordered.
Perform phlebotomy and collect, label, process, and prepare laboratory specimens.
Perform EKGs and obtain accurate vital signs.
Conduct focused nursing assessments and recognize changes in patient condition requiring provider evaluation.
Review allergies, medications, and relevant medical history prior to treatments and procedures.
Maintain appropriate infection-control and aseptic techniques.
Document nursing care, treatments, medications, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record.
Provide patient education regarding treatments and aftercare within the RN scope of practice.
Assist providers with clinical procedures as needed.
Maintain and organize IV, injection, laboratory, and clinical supplies.
Monitor medication and supply inventory and notify the appropriate team member when items need to be reordered.
Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked patient-care and treatment areas.
Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, medication-safety, and practice policies and procedures.
Respond appropriately to adverse reactions or unexpected changes in patient condition and initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
Collaborate closely with nurse practitioners, naturopathic physicians, administrative staff, and other members of the Rise Wellness team.

Qualifications

Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Current BLS/CPR certification required.
Strong IV insertion and phlebotomy skills.
Previous experience administering IV medications or infusions strongly preferred.
Comfortable administering IM and SQ injections.
Experience obtaining EKGs preferred.
Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills.
Comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients.
Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to potential medication or infusion reactions.
Strong attention to detail, particularly with medication administration, documentation, and specimen handling.
Comfortable working independently while maintaining close communication with the clinical team.
Professional, dependable, organized, and compassionate.
Prior outpatient, infusion, emergency department, urgent care, or similar nursing experience is preferred.
Interest or experience in functional, integrative, or chronic illness care is a plus but is not required.

Schedule

This is a part-time/per-diem position with hours based on patient scheduling and practice needs. We are looking for someone interested in growing with the practice as our clinical and infusion services expand.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
