Job Opportunity: Interim Family Center Coordinator with YWCA Bucks County in Bensalem, PA

Estimated timeframe: September through December

This is a short-term, part-time opportunity (20-25 hours per week)

Do you enjoy working directly with children, families, and your community? Are you passionate about creating safe, engaging spaces where youth can learn, grow, and thrive? If so, YWCA Bucks County is looking for a bilingual (English/Spanish) Interim Family Center Coordinator to support programming at the Bucks Meadow Family Center, and we’d love to hear from you.

The Interim Family Center Coordinator is a hands-on part-time role, overseeing day-to-day operations at the Bucks Meadow Family Center and serve as the lead for our afterschool program for children in grades 1–6. You’ll be the friendly, dependable presence that keeps programs, families, and community partners connected — ensuring the center stays welcoming, organized, and responsive to the needs of the Bucks Meadow community.

In this role, you will:

Serve as the lead for the Afterschool Program (grades 1–6) during afternoon hours (approx. 3:00–5:30 PM) and support the Pre-Teen (grades 4–6) and Teen (grades 6–12) programs as needed.
Plan and deliver engaging daily activities and help coordinate weekly and monthly programming — including Community Day and other family programs.
Provide Spanish-language translation and interpretation for families and as needed, for the broader YWCA agency.
Maintain attendance records, participant registrations, sign-in sheets, and program documentation using the Active database system.
Complete and submit monthly youth programming and Family Center reports and paperwork.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians through phone and email and ensure required participant forms are completed.
Order monthly snacks for the Afterschool, Pre-Teen, and Community Day programs, and keep program and cleaning supplies stocked.
Perform daily upkeep of the center — light cleaning of common areas, kitchen, and restroom; vacuuming; wiping tables; and taking out the trash.
Provide minimal social-service support hours as needed.
Serve as a liaison between YWCA Bucks County and Bucks Meadow Property Management and provide updates on center operations and community needs.
Promote Family Center programs, assist with outreach efforts, and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, volunteers, and community partners.
Attend staff meetings and trainings, biweekly department outcomes meetings, and biweekly supervision sessions.

Qualifications:

Fluent Spanish language skills (required).
Experience working with and supervising groups of children and youth.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field preferred; candidates with 2–5 years of directly related experience will also be considered.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
Comfort working collaboratively with volunteers and part-time staff.
Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Google Workspace; experience with the Active database system is a plus.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to obtain required clearances, Mandated Reporter certification, and CPR certification.
