Full Job Description

Custom Covers & Canvas designs, manufactures, and installs custom fabric awnings. We're looking for an Awning CAD Designer to turn awning specifications into precise digital files that drive our CNC cutting equipment. This is a hands-on role at the front of our production process — the quality of your files determines how cleanly every awning gets cut, sewn, and installed.

You'll work on-site at our shop, collaborating closely with our sales team and the production floor to make sure every job is built right the first time.

What you'll do

Draw and lay out awnings in our design software to create cut-ready files for our CNC machine
Translate measurements, sketches, and job specs from sales and field estimates into accurate digital patterns
Nest panels efficiently to make the best use of fabric and minimize waste
Verify dimensions, seam allowances, and details before releasing files to the cutter
Work with the production team to resolve questions and confirm files cut and sew as intended
Keep job files organized and maintain consistency across recurring awning styles

What we're looking for

Experience with CAD or CNC design software preferred — but we're willing to train the right person who is detail-oriented and picks up software quickly
Strong spatial reasoning and comfort working with measurements and dimensions
Careful, accurate, and able to catch small errors before they reach the shop floor
Reliable, self-directed, and able to manage a steady queue of jobs
Interest in the awning, canvas, or custom fabrication trade is a plus
