Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-precision sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and quality inspection to ensure products meet strict specifications. The CNC Laser Operator plays a vital part in delivering quality products efficiently and safely within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties

Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for each job.
Program CNC laser systems using CAD/CAM software to produce complex parts according to blueprints and technical drawings.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimize downtime.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Utilize hand tools, tooling, and fabrication equipment such as press brake machines as needed.
Operate forklifts and cranes safely for material handling when required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards and best practices.
Assist in assembly processes when necessary, ensuring components meet quality standards before final delivery.

Skills

Proficiency in CNC laser cutting, programming, and operation.
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in laser cutting and fabrication.
Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Familiarity with tooling setup, sheet metal fabrication, and tooling management.
Experience with quality inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
Knowledge of safety procedures related to crane operation, hand tools usage, welding, fabrication equipment, and material handling.
Mechanical aptitude combined with manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
