Full Job Description

OVERVIEW:
Our practice is growing and we are seeking a full-time, experienced Medical Assistant to join our high volume, fast-paced team! Previous Medical Assistant experience is a MUST. We offer competitive pay, a generous benefits package, and a 401(k) retirement plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform clinical tasks under the supervision of healthcare professionals, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with minor procedures.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documenting patient information, medical histories, and test results.
* Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, submitting insurance authorizations and coordinating referrals.
* Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies.

* Set up sterile trays and sterilize instruments after procedures.

* Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
* Continuously update knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and best practices in order to provide the highest level of care

REQUIREMENTS:

* Certification as a Medical Assistant is required or at least 2 years MA experience.

* Must be able to work full-time and able to travel to both San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach offices for clinic.

* Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, basic clinical procedures, and direct patient interaction or care is required.
* Must have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills with patients, providers, co-workers, and other healthcare facilities.
* Proficient computer skills required for maintaining accurate electronic health records and performing administrative tasks.
* Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Must maintain flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs that may arise unexpectedly.
