Full Job Description

Join our team of title professionals! Title America has been providing title insurance and related services for over 50 years! We pride ourselves on our expertise, availability, and efficiency in handling every type of real estate including residential, commercial, new construction, land acquisition, and right of way.

Summary

We are currently seeking a title examiner responsible for analyzing abstract documentation and search reports and preparing title commitments. Experience with SoftPro is preferred but not required.

Title Examiner Job Description

Examine abstract documentation such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, deeds, deeds of trust, mechanics liens, judgments, assessments and probates and other matters of record to determine the conditions of the title and insurability.
Plat legal descriptions
Read search requests to ascertain types of title evidence required and to obtain descriptions of properties and names of involved parties.
Summarize recorded documents, such as mortgages, trust deeds, and contracts that affect property titles.
Examine individual titles to determine if restrictions will affect titles and limit property use.
Prepare title reports describing any title encumbrances encountered during searching activities, and outlining actions needed to clear titles.
Prepare title commitments and provide them to involved parties.

Job Qualifications:

Experience in commercial, land acquisitions, ROW easements, new construction, and residential purchase title examination.
Ability to research and reach reasonable decisions for requirements and exceptions on complex matters found through search exam.
Must be proficient in examining and mapping metes and bounds and section land.
Demonstrate knowledge of complex title matters.
Knowledge of underwriting policies and guidelines.
Exhibit excellent computer skills. Experience with SoftPro preferred but not required.
Meet and/or exceed daily production requirements.
Ability to develop and initiate new streamline procedures and guidelines to help improve the speed and accuracy of the search and exam process.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Organizational skills and ability to work within established time frames.
Ability to work in fast paced environment while maintaining control.
Excellent problem solving/critical thinking.
