Location: Remote, Northeast US Preference would be given to those based in Massachusetts Sartorius is looking for a strategic and results-driven Manager of Technical Sales Specialists to lead a high-performing team supporting customers across the rapidly growing Cell & Gene Therapy market. With a strong understanding of advanced therapy development and manufacturing workflows, you will empower your team to deliver exceptional technical engagement, accelerate opportunity progression, and drive adoption of Sartorius' portfolio. In this remote, customer-facing leadership role, you will partner closely with Sales to help biopharma innovators overcome technical challenges and bring transformative therapies to patients faster.
What you will accomplish together with us:
Lead and develop a team of Technical Sales Specialists supporting customers across advanced therapeutic modalities, including Cell & Gene Therapy workflows, ensuring consistent technical excellence and high-impact customer engagement throughout the opportunity lifecycle
Guide the team in positioning Sartorius solutions within Cell & Gene Therapy manufacturing and process development environments by translating complex customer challenges into scalable technical solutions that accelerate adoption and strengthen commercial success
Partner with Commercial, Product Management, and Business Unit stakeholders to identify emerging Cell & Gene Therapy market trends, customer priorities, and competitive dynamics, driving technical strategies that support growth across this rapidly evolving segment
Enable consistent execution by coordinating priorities, supporting skill development, and ensuring high‑quality technical engagement aligned with Business Unit and Sales expectations
Ensure high‑quality, timely, and consistent technical validation work that strengthens customer fit, accelerates adoption, and improves conversion rates across the assigned region or cluster
Oversee the contribution to early‑stage opportunity creation by ensuring structured qualification, timely technical engagement, and adherence to coverage boundaries agreed with Central Sales
Reinforce rigorous CRM documentation of technical activities, opportunity progression, and customer interactions to enable pipeline hygiene, accurate forecasting and data‑driven commercial steering
Capture recurring customer needs, workflow patterns, competitive signals and share structured feedback and insights with Product Management and Product Development to inform portfolio improvements and sales enablement
Ensure the team provides accurate, complete technical inputs for the scope‑related sections of contracts by coordinating with Central Sales, Business Unit stakeholders, and Legal, safeguarding technical clarity and delivery feasibility without assuming commercial ownership
What will convince us:
Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or related discipline
5+ years technical sales, applications consulting, or pre‑sales experience in a scientific or technical environment
Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing technical sales, application, or scientific commercial teams, fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and customer-centricity
Demonstrated experience supporting Cell and Gene Therapy customers, applications, or manufacturing workflows, with the ability to translate industry trends and technical requirements into customer-centric solutionsProven hunter and influencer with strong technical depth and ability to guide high‑skill specialists
Strong workflow, application, and portfolio understanding across assigned solution areas
Proficiency in CRM systems and structured sales processes, with strong documentation discipline
Strong communication, consultative selling, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
Willing to travel >50% as this role is heavily focused on external customers

Salary range is $140,000-$180,000 (depending on qualifications), plus a sales incentive bonus plan.
