Outside Sales Representative – Southeast Pet (Greater Atlanta)

Position Summary

We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong partnerships with independent pet retailers throughout the Greater Atlanta area while supporting additional Georgia and Florida Panhandle accounts. The ideal candidate is passionate about the pet industry, enjoys working face-to-face with customers, and has a proven ability to grow sales through exceptional service, product knowledge, and consultative selling.

As the face of our company in the field, you will work directly with pet store owners, managers, and buyers to introduce premium pet products, identify sales opportunities, provide merchandising and product recommendations, analyze sales performance, and help retailers maximize their success.

Essential Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective retail pet store customers.
Travel throughout the Greater Atlanta market with periodic regional travel throughout the Southeast.
Conduct regular in-person store visits to strengthen customer relationships and identify business opportunities.
Present and sell new product launches, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
Review sales reports with customers and provide recommendations to improve product performance and profitability.
Educate customers on product features, benefits, and merchandising best practices.
Assist retailers with inventory recommendations, product placement, and assortment planning.
Identify customer challenges and develop practical solutions to improve sales and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with internal purchasing, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure excellent customer support.
Prospect and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and pipeline updates within the company CRM system.
Attend trade shows, customer events, and industry meetings as needed.
Stay informed on industry trends, competitive products, and emerging opportunities within the pet industry.
Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales goals and performance expectations.

Qualifications

Previous outside sales experience required.
Experience within the pet industry is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to build long-term customer relationships and grow sales.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to analyze sales data and develop strategic recommendations.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while remaining a collaborative team member.
Comfortable spending the majority of the workweek traveling throughout the assigned territory.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
BA/BS University Degree

Physical Requirements

Frequent driving throughout assigned territory.
Ability to lift and carry product samples up to 40 pounds.
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching during customer visits.
Ability to load, unload, and transport marketing materials and product samples.

Travel Requirements

Daily local travel throughout the Greater Atlanta area.
Regular overnight travel throughout the Southeast region as business needs require (approximately 15–30%).
Attendance at trade shows, customer meetings, and company events.
