Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) | Registered Nurse (RN)

St. Joseph's Rehabilitation & Care Center | Norfolk, NE

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour

We're looking for an experienced, compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) to partner with our Director of Nursing in leading a clinical team that is committed to excellence, teamwork, and resident-centered care.

Schedule

Full-Time
Day Shift | 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
On-call rotation every third weekend

What You'll Do

As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you'll partner closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure exceptional clinical care, regulatory compliance, and staff development.

Leadership & Operations

Assist with the daily leadership and operations of the Nursing Department.
Support staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning to ensure quality resident care.
Recruit, interview, onboard, and mentor nursing team members.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
Address employee concerns and assist with performance management when needed.

Clinical Excellence

Provide direct nursing care when necessary.
Monitor nursing practices to ensure compliance with clinical standards and facility policies.
Observe medication passes and treatments to promote quality outcomes.
Oversee resident admissions, discharges, and care coordination.
Review clinical documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Quality & Compliance

Assist with survey preparation and regulatory readiness.
Support Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and facility committees.
Help develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
Assist in maintaining an effective infection prevention and control program.

Education & Support

Help orient and train newly hired nursing staff.
Coordinate and provide ongoing clinical education and in-service training.
Ensure adequate supplies, equipment, and medications are available to support resident care.
Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best resident outcomes.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support resident care and facility operations.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska (or compact state eligibility).
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining a resident-centered approach.
Commitment to delivering exceptional clinical care and supporting team success.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
