Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic mental health care team as a Registered Nurse (RN), where your compassionate care and clinical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. In this vital role, you will provide direct patient care, support treatment plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote recovery and well-being. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive environment dedicated to holistic mental health services.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status examinations, and physical evaluations tailored to mental health needs
Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions
Assist with therapeutic procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and sterile processing as needed
Document patient information accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Support discharge planning and coordinate follow-up care to ensure continuity of treatment in outpatient or community settings
Provide patient education on medication management, self-care strategies, and symptom monitoring to empower individuals in their recovery journey
Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans

Requirements

Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification in good standing
Proven experience in mental health settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient management
Knowledge of psychiatric medications, ICD-10 coding standards, and medication administration protocols
Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (Alzheimer’s care), memory care needs, or behavioral health conditions
Ability to perform physical examinations, vital signs assessment, and basic life support (BLS) certification is required
Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in clinical procedures
