The IT Systems Analyst II will be a member of End User Computing with duties in planning, coordinating, administering, and maintaining the organization’s software inventory. The position’s core function will be to support the city’s software catalog.
Under EUC’s Asset Management, the position will be responsible for tracking applications and entitlements. Tasks will include configuring, administering, and maintaining the ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional application.
The selected candidate will:

Lead the software asset management program

Create, manage, and maintain software catalog
-
Manage the software asset life cycle
-
Manage software license (models, entitlements, and metrics) inventory, compliance, and oversee renewals

Evaluate costs of purchasing and managing software assets
-
Evaluate software usage and reclamation
-
Improve IT software asset services to end users
-
Work closely with application portfolio management and services owners
-
Establish and maintain relationships with various vendors and software publishers
-
Develop and/or update SOPs and prepare documentation for managing software assets
-
Have a role in end user & mobile hardware refresh and inventory
-
Generate inventory reports
-
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Perform other duties as assigned by EUC manager

Three or more years of IT and business/industry work experience, including business analysis, requirements gathering, strategic development, testing, and software & hardware life cycle management

Three or more years of knowledge and experience in Service Now Software Asset Management Professional

Expertise in centralized, distributed, client-server, cloud, and standalone platforms
-
Experience with IT Infrastructure, environment management, and architecture Strong background in software and hardware inventory management

Deep understanding of software licensing standards

Strong analytical, research, and data compilation skills

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field plus four (4) years of professional IT experience; OR any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or professional progressive IT experience equivalent to eight (8) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities in systems analysis, design and implementation of IT business applications; and associated with such positions as Systems Analyst, Systems Business Analyst, or Programmer Analyst. May be required to have a current and valid driver’s license. Special Requirements: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
