Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical (MS) and Telemetry (Tele) to provide exceptional patient care across diverse healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, strong adaptability, and a passion for delivering quality nursing services in dynamic environments. As a Travel RN - MS/Tele, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in various hospitals and clinics while expanding your professional experience.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, injections, and medication management in accordance with HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
Monitor patients' conditions closely, utilizing telemetry equipment for cardiac monitoring and responding promptly to critical changes or emergencies.
Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and sterile dressing changes following aseptic techniques.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patients' needs across medical-surgical units and telemetry floors.
Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records, ensuring compliance with documentation standards like ICD-10 coding and laboratory data entry.
Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medication administration, discharge instructions, and health coaching strategies.
Maintain infection control practices diligently while managing complex cases involving infectious disease care or trauma medicine at Level I or Level II trauma centers.

Experience

Valid RN license with current state licensure; prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
Demonstrated proficiency working within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
Extensive clinical background in Medical-Surgical units with exposure to ICU or telemetry monitoring; trauma center experience is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques including laboratory testing and sonography.
Experience managing diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal care, behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Skilled in critical care procedures such as airway management, ventilator support, acute pain management, and neonatal resuscitation procedures.
Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), MDS documentation standards for long-term care facilities, and compliance with NCQA standards is desirable.
Ability to adapt quickly to different healthcare environments including outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, home & community care settings, and inpatient hospital units.
