Optometric Receptionist

Full job description

We are an establish private practice servicing the Hamptons Road community providing full scope comprehensive eye care to those around and their family. We are looking for a charismatic, friendly, respectable and reliable person to join our team. The ideal candidate should be able to be self-motivating, organized, detailed oriented and personable. Interpersonal skill and computer skill is a must. If you are looking to grow and establish a long term career we encourage you to apply. Experience in the field is a plus, but not necessary. We are willing to train the right person.

Salary: Starting at $16.50 an hour.

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Virginia Beach

Job description/ Duties/Responsibilities:

Greet patients as they come into the office, check them into the system and verify and collect insurance and demographic information.
Input correct patient’s information into the computer system.
Help control the flow of the practice by managing and scheduling patients as well as confirming appointments.
Be able to multitask and answer phone while performing front office task
Performs insurance verification, determines eligibility for services, and informs patients of the financial responsibility for services.
Scan chart into the electronic health system
Collect patient payments as appropriate.
Understand and follow HIPAA standards and guidelines
May assist the doctor on other duties as assigned.
Previous customer service, retail, medical front office experience helpful but not required.
Good typing skills and computer knowledge is essential, 45 wpm recommended but not required.
Willing to learn new set of skills (Goal is to cross train and learn some basic Optometric technician skill along the way)

Previous customer service, retail, medical front office, optometry, or ophthalmology experience is a plus but is not required
