Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Scribe to join our dynamic eye care team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical documentation, ophthalmology procedures, and electronic health record systems. As an Ophthalmic Scribe, you will play a vital role in supporting ophthalmologists by accurately transcribing patient encounters, managing medical records, and ensuring seamless documentation processes to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.

Duties

Accurately transcribe detailed patient encounters, including symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment plans, using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems.
Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations by documenting clinical findings and procedural notes efficiently and precisely.
Maintain and organize medical records, ensuring all documentation complies with privacy regulations and clinic standards.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, anatomy, and physiology to support accurate record-keeping.
Support the clinical team with administrative tasks related to medical documentation and record management.
Utilize typing skills to ensure rapid and accurate transcription of complex medical information during busy clinic hours.
Collaborate with staff to improve documentation workflows and ensure timely updates of patient information.

Skills

Proven experience as an ophthalmic scribe or in a similar medical transcription role within an ophthalmology or medical office setting.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmic procedures.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and record management.
Excellent typing skills with high accuracy and speed to keep pace with clinical demands.
Familiarity with medical records management protocols and confidentiality standards.
Prior emergency room experience is advantageous for handling urgent situations effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
