Cavalier is seeking a process server & delivery driver to join our Norfolk Office! This part-time role includes shift availability in the afternoons, evenings and weekends. As our team member, you’ll deliver legal documents, serve court papers, and assist with field operations across the Hampton Roads region, with occasional opportunities to volunteer for nationwide travel assignments.
This is an in-person part-time position that involves regular commute to our Norfolk Office.
Pay: $18.00 Base rate with up to $2/hr. Bilingual Spanish-Speaking wage differential for applicants with fluent speaking and listening skills.
This hands-on role offers a variety of assignments, exposure to high-profile legal cases, and the chance to apply critical thinking in dynamic, real-world situations, making every day on the road and in the field unique. Please note this role is in-person only.
We provide full training and encourage those with no prior process serving experience to apply. This role is ideal for motivated, adaptable candidates who enjoy fieldwork, problem-solving, and working independently with team support.

Job Responsibilities
- Serve legal documents (summonses, subpoenas, and other court papers) for ongoing court cases
- Deliver, pickup, and retrieve court, law firm, and client documents accurately and on time
- Locate and gather information on individuals in the field
- File motions, affidavits, and other legal documents as needed
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and document recipients, maintaining discretion and professionalism in all interactions
- Maintain accurate records of all service attempts, deliveries, and assignments

The Job Requirements
- 18+ years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- You must drive your own vehicle and have a valid driver’s license (we reimburse mileage at $0.725 per mile)
- Own a smartphone with high-speed data for navigation and mobile app use
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently, exercising real-time judgment with access to staff support
- Willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)
- Safe, cautious, and confident driving in the Hampton Roads area
- Professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with others
- Consistent, honest and and maintains high integrity when signing sworn statements

Our Preferred Qualifications
- Clean driving record with minimal traffic violations or at-fault accidents
- Experience or familiarity with legal or customer service, driving, or delivery roles
- Conversational or fluent Spanish listening and speaking (bilingual pay differential up to $2/hr)
- Excellent analytical skills, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make quick, sound decisions and assess information accuracy in the field
