Treatment & Exercise Chiropractic Assistant (TECA)Help Us Help More People More
At Action Wellness, our mission is to help as many people as possible experience as many benefits as possible through chiropractic care. We do that by creating an effective, efficient, and enjoyable healthcare experience for both our patients and our team.
Experience in chiropractic or healthcare is not required. A genuine interest in health, wellness, and helping people improve their lives is.
We can teach you the systems, checklists, clinical procedures, and skills required to succeed in this role. What we can't teach is an internal drive to learn more, become better at what you do, and contribute to something you believe in.
Our mission should inspire you.
We’re looking for a Treatment & Exercise Chiropractic Assistant (TECA) who wants to play an active role in helping patients get better results—not simply move them through appointments. As you grow in the role, we also expect you to bring ideas to the table. We want team members who notice opportunities, suggest innovations, and help us continually improve how we serve our patients and advance our mission.
Hours & Schedule
This position can be full-time or part-time, depending on availability and fit.
Our primary patient-care shifts are generally:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday mornings: 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m.
- Monday–Thursday afternoons: 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
- Saturday 1-2x per month for a couple hours in the morning usually 7:30-9:30
Wednesday mornings are different. Rather than beginning with patients at 6:00 a.m., we reserve this time for training, team meetings, professional development, and projects that help move our mission forward. Team members should be prepared to participate in Wednesday morning activities as scheduled.
Our schedule isn't traditional—and that's intentional. The split shifts allow us to serve patients before and after their workday while creating a substantial break in the middle of the day for gym time, errands, family/pet time and more. Additional flex hours are allocated for special projects per person each quarter.
What You’ll Do
As a TECA, you’ll work directly with patients throughout their care. As the lead clinical assistant, you’ll be trained to:
- Administer rehabilitation and basic clinical exam functions
- Guide patients through personalized exercises and therapies
- Watch how patients perform exercises and provide real-time course correction
- Help patients understand what they’re doing and why it matters
- Recognize when a patient may benefit from an additional service or conversation with the doctor
- Look for opportunities to help great patient experiences reach more people through Google reviews, testimonials, and referrals
- Keep treatment and rehabilitation areas organized, prepared, and moving efficiently
- Support the doctors and the rest of the team wherever needed to create an exceptional patient experience
- Look for ways to improve our systems, services, patient experience, and clinical processes as your knowledge grows
No chiropractic experience or certification is required. We provide on-the-job training with opportunities for advancement and additional certifications.
Who We’re Looking For
This is a good fit for someone who:
- Has a genuine personal interest in health, wellness, movement, exercise, or helping people improve their health
- Enjoys working directly with people and is comfortable providing both praise and correction to improve patient positioning and execution of prescribed protocols
- Is energetic, warm, and comfortable starting conversations
- Pays attention and notices when something doesn’t look or feel right
- Is coachable and actively wants feedback
- Takes ownership instead of waiting to be told every next step
- Can follow systems while still thinking on their feet
- Gets curious about how and why things work instead of simply memorizing a checklist
- Wants to continually improve personally and professionally
- Is willing to bring forward ideas, innovations, and opportunities for improvement
- Wants their work to contribute to a mission larger than simply completing the day's tasks
You do not need to know everything when you start.
You do need to be willing to learn, practice, accept correction, take pride in your work, and become excellent at what you do.
We'll teach you the systems and checklists. Over time, we expect you to understand the why behind them well enough to help us make them better.
What “Help More People More” Means
Help people more: Give the patient in front of you your attention, help them perform their care correctly, notice barriers to their progress, and look for appropriate ways we may be able to improve their results.
Help more people: When patients have a great experience, help them share it. Reviews, testimonials, and referrals allow people who need help to hear about Action Wellness from the people who have actually experienced our care.
Our systems and checklists are nonnegotiable because consistency matters. But simply completing a checklist isn't enough.
We want someone who understands why we do what we do, takes ownership of the outcome, and eventually helps us discover better ways of doing it.
The Environment
Action Wellness is a busy chiropractic and wellness practice in Bloomington, Illinois.
Our team works hard, moves quickly, communicates constantly, and takes training seriously. We regularly work on clinical skills, communication, patient experience, and professional development.
We don't expect you to arrive fully trained. We do expect you to arrive interested, curious, and eager to grow.
Compensation: $19–$22/hour
Position: Full-time or Part-time
