Full Job Description

Job Title: Cook ( Part-Time)- 3-9pm

Location: The Chateau Hotel and Conference Center, Bloomington, IL

Department: Food & Beverage

Reports To: Banquet Captain

Position Summary

The Chateau Hotel and Conference Center is seeking a reliable, skilled, and motivated Full-Time and Part-Time Cook to join our culinary team. This position plays a key role in preparing and serving quality meals for our daily hotel food service and banquet events. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys working in a team-oriented environment, and can deliver consistency and quality under time constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present meal items and banquet meals according to established recipes and hotel standards.
Assist with banquet setup and food preparation for conferences, weddings, and special events.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment.
Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld at all times.
Assist with inventory control and proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to ensure timely service for both breakfast and banquet functions.
Support menu planning and contribute ideas for enhancing guest satisfaction.
Provide excellent service and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with staff and guests.

Qualifications

Previous cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or banquet setting preferred.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen safety standards.
Ability to work early evening hours and flexible shifts including weekends or special events.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization skills.
Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Schedule & Compensation

Part-Time Position — average 20–30 hours per week.
Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
Opportunities for additional hours during peak event seasons.
