Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Procurement Manager to lead our procurement and materials management functions within a manufacturing environment.
This pivotal role involves overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory control of raw materials and components essential for production operations.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in supply chain management, procurement processes, and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS.
They will drive efficiency through effective supplier management, demand planning, and inventory optimization, ensuring seamless production flow and cost-effective procurement strategies.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with production schedules and company objectives.
- Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, lead times, payment terms, inventory programs, and long-term agreements
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery timeliness, and cost competitiveness.
- Oversee inventory management systems to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and prevent shortages.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS for purchase order creation, tracking, and data analysis.
- Coordinate with production planning teams to align procurement activities with manufacturing schedules.
- Monitor logistics and warehouse operations to ensure efficient inbound and outbound material flow.
- Conduct demand planning and forecasting using spreadsheets and inventory management tools to anticipate material needs.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, review terms, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline materials handling processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with quality assurance, logistics, finance, and production teams to optimize supply chain performance.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase transactions, supplier agreements, and inventory levels for audit purposes.
- ERP Planning System Ownership:
- Serve as the functional owner of procurement processes within Global Shop Solutions (GSS).
- Partner with the internal stakeholders and GSS to implement system enhancements that improve procurement and planning performance.
- Maintain planning parameters including lead times, planning calendars, order policies, and scheduling rules.
- Ensure planning data accuracy and integrity within the ERP system.
- Support planning system enhancements and process improvements.
- Procurement Governance & Compliance:
- Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and standard work.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and contractual commitments.
- Promote ethical procurement practices and appropriate internal controls.
- Support customer, regulatory, and quality requirements applicable to the supply chain.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement or materials management within a manufacturing company environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in supply chain management, logistics inventory management, and production scheduling.
- Strong technical proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS; familiarity with inventory management systems is essential.
- Extensive purchasing experience with a focus on manufacturing materials; contract negotiation skills are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially spreadsheets for data analysis and demand forecasting.
- Knowledge of inventory control techniques including MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and lean manufacturing practices.
- Experience managing supplier relationships to ensure quality standards and delivery performance.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate between production, logistics, procurement, and finance teams.
- BA or BS in Materials Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Planning or a related field
- 5 years of related procurement experience including purchasing, inventory control, contract negotiation, supply management, supplier relationships
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred. An Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience:
- 7+ years of progressive procurement, supply chain, operations, or manufacturing experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience leading procurement, purchasing, or supply chain teams.
- Experience in EMS or complex manufacturing environments preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems required.
- Experience with Global Shop Solutions (GSS) preferred.
