The Traits - We are looking for a creative professional to join our Brand Expression team. You must excel at concepting big ideas and bringing them to life with engaging visuals and thought-provoking copy. As a digital designer and specialist in the digital space, we expect you to turn concepts into engaging digital experiences, solve problems creatively and think proactively.
The Team - The Brand Expression team supports artwork, animation, and design needs for a wide variety of campaigns across all departments, using central brands and visual themes that help the Oklahoma City Thunder and Oklahoma City Blue basketball teams connect with our fans locally and around the globe.
The Role – The Digital Designer works closely with the Social Media and Marketing teams to impact the user journey throughout our digital initiatives. This role plays a meaningful role in producing both original and established brand content while collaborating with other designers to tell our story. The digital space changes quickly and it’s essential that you not only keep pace but stay ahead of the curve.
Work directly with the Social Media and Marketing teams to concept and create visually engaging and professional graphics
Create efficient and consistent workflows that support digital needs across multiple platforms
Stay up to date on trends, techniques and technology, and advise on how it can influence and impact our digital layouts
Pitch creative ideas and concepts
Contribute to maintaining a consistent and engaging user experience across digital channels
Apply established graphic styles in a fresh and visually engaging way
Take an idea from concept through completion that builds and sustains consistent, loyal and engaging fan interaction
Create compelling brand storytelling across a variety of digital and multimedia platforms
Follow and maintain established file structured
Perform other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring to the role:
Extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
Experience creating graphics for digital platforms, including social media, websites, display advertising, email, mobile applications, and digital billboards
Four-year college degree or equivalent work or military experience preferred, with areas of focus in digital media, graphic design, fine art, typography, videography, or photography
Minimum of two years of professional digital design experience required
Experience with animation, video editing, post-production, or photography is a plus
Knowledge of UI/UX design principles
Ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving work environment
Strong creative problem-solving skills with the ability to develop concepts from idea through execution
Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners
Experience working within established brand standards
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
This is a full-time, hourly position reporting to the Director, Brand Identity & Creative. The primary work location is the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. The work schedule includes regular office hours and requires availability for game nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays to support digital content creation and collaboration with the Social Media team.
