Full Job Description

A well-established general contracting company in West Chicago, IL is looking to hire a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to support our accounting department with day-to-day financial tasks. The ideal candidate will be proficient using MS Excel, Quickbooks and be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with general ledger entries. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and a general understanding of overall accounting principles and be flexible enough to work in different capacities within the accounting dept.

Duties Include:

Perform essential financial & administrative duties to assist senior accounting staff
Accounts Payable/Receivable Processing
Report Generation & compilation
Data Entry – Posting AP into QuickBooks
Verify invoicing & Resolving Discrepancies
Vendor & Supplier Communication Functions
Administrative Support – Handling phone calls, processing mail and other general administrative support
Other duties as required to support the accounting department

Qualifications:

Must be 21+ with high school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment (phones, printers ect)
Must have MS Excel proficiency, knowledge of QuickBooks a plus!
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Problem-solving skills
Proactive and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to work in a fast-paced adaptive environment

Pay & Benefits:

Full Time: Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 5pm (plus overtime)

$24 - $25/hr, based on experience. Paid weekly on Fridays!

*Please note: A major part of our business is commercial snow removal. Mandatory overtime is required after a snowfall event to ensure that invoicing is completed within 24hrs. This mandatory overtime is only required during the winter months of November – April, pending snowfall.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
