Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Technician works closely with production staff to ensure that all systems, standards, formulas, and specifications are consistently followed throughout the facility. This role is responsible for monitoring food safety, quality programs, and production documentation to maintain compliance with customer, regulatory, and company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality as defined by plant and department procedures.
Monitor and approve production equipment sanitation, start-up, and performance using control devices and tests.
Monitor the environment of the plant using various test equipment and procedures and communicate results to operations team on a regular basis.
Perform audits on Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of the plant.
Prepare paperwork for use in reporting results to internal auditing, FSNS auditing, and State Agencies.
Maintain and calibrate test equipment using control devices and tests.
Address food safety, regulatory, customer, and documentation issues with production personnel in a timely manner.
Monitor production lines from start to finish to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and production standards.
Ensure all plant personnel comply with established procedures and standards.
Report any non-compliance immediately to management.
Ensure that plant is operating in compliance with all customer and government regulations (FDA & State).
Perform label control and package printingverification.
Serve as a laboratory technician when required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and Quality systems
Excellent computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and positively with all levels of staff and customers.
Ability to think creatively and apply innovative solutions to challenges

Education

Bachelor’s degree in food science or related fields, 2-3 years food manufacturing experiences.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
