Job Overview
Join our dynamic maritime team as a First Mate/Deckhand, where your enthusiasm and hands-on skills will help ensure smooth sailing on every voyage. In this vital role, you will assist with daily vessel operations, perform essential maintenance, and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for guests and crew alike. Your proactive attitude and mechanical aptitude will support the overall success of our adventures on the water. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your maritime expertise while delivering exceptional experiences for our guests.

Duties

Assist with rigging tasks, including setting up sails, securing lines, and maintaining deck equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
Support the captain with navigation and operational duties, including handling lines and performing safety checks
Conduct routine mechanical inspections and perform basic repairs to keep equipment in top condition
Serve meals or snacks as needed, demonstrating hospitality to enhance guest satisfaction
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and ensuring a memorable experience
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deck area, ensuring a safe environment for all onboard activities
Assist with emergency procedures, safety drills, and compliance with maritime regulations

Qualifications

Previous experience in boating or maritime environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
Knowledge of rigging techniques and mechanical systems is highly desirable
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
Basic cooking skills to prepare snacks onboard
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
Strong teamwork ethic and positive attitude in fast-paced settings
Valid maritime safety certifications or willingness to obtain necessary credentials prior to employment are a plus
