Full Job Description

Birdie’s Pizza is a family owned, high volume NY Style Pizzeria that is looking for an organized and positive BOH leader of high character. We are chef driven and focused on executing exceptionally delicious pizza and provisions.

Yearly salary starting at $60,000 based on experience.

Job Description:

- Lead by example on a fast-paced pizza line and be able to execute the style pizza that we have become known for. This is a working position with managerial responsibilities.

- Full grasp and understanding of menu items, recipes, and preparation techniques.

-Provide excellent customer service to our patrons

- Help to develop the ability and talent of the other BOH employees with a positive management style

- Be able to manage the daily BOH operations, while adhering to all food safety and quality standards. Help institute proper inventory management, proper stock rotation, as well as maintaining cleanliness standards throughout all of the kitchen.

- Assist with ordering, station prep lists, production schedules, and kitchen organization.

- Train new staff on all kitchen protocols, recipes and procedures.

- Communicate clearly with leadership in regards to staff management and employee evaluations.

- Maintain compliance with local and state health code regulations. ServSafe certification is preferred.

Job Requirements:

- 2+ years as Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef experience is preferred

- Proficient cooking and knife skills. Must have pizza making and/or bread baking experience. Working with artisan bread dough as well as a relative understanding of sourdough and basic bread fermentation.

- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and effectively problem solve.

- Encouraging and respectful management style that will inspire the team to deliver high quality customer experiences.

- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

- Complete knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards.

- A strong interest and curiosity for food, especially pizza, and the art and science of bread making.

- Desire to improve and get better daily.

- High school diploma or GED required.

-Upper level education is strongly preferred, particularly in the field of culinary arts.

Five day work week.

Afternoon, night, and weekend availability required. Must be able to work Sundays.

Starting annual salary $60,000

2 weeks of Paid Vacation Time
