We are seeking a knowledgeable and safety-conscious Civil Construction & Heavy Equipment Operator Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training on safe and effective operation of heavy machinery used in civil construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring apprentices, new operators, and experienced personnel maintain best practices and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and cranes.

Conduct both classroom and on-site practical training sessions tailored to participants’ skill levels and project requirements.

Assess trainees' knowledge and proficiency through evaluations, written tests, and hands-on demonstrations.

Provide constructive feedback and coaching to improve individual performance and promote a culture of safety.

Ensure all training materials meet regulatory and company standards for safety, operations, and environmental compliance.

Keep training documentation, attendance records, and competency assessments up to date.

Stay informed of current industry trends, standards, and equipment technologies.

Assist in accident investigations and recommend corrective training actions as needed.

Promote and enforce company policies, safe work practices, and regulatory compliance at all times.

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; additional technical or vocational certification is a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of direct experience operating and/or instructing on heavy equipment in civil construction.

Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols, construction codes, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA, ANSI).

Valid heavy equipment operator certifications and licenses appropriate to state or regional requirements.

Demonstrated ability to deliver effective training in both classroom and field settings.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proven organizational and record-keeping abilities.

Instructor certification from recognized industry or safety organizations (e.g., NCCER, OSHA, MSHA).

Experience with adult education methods and training technologies.

Bilingual or multilingual abilities.

Previous experience in conducting accident/incident investigations.

Associate’s degree or higher in construction management, engineering, or related field.

Expertise in operating multiple types of civil construction heavy equipment.
