Psychiatric Consultant – Collaborative Care Model / Integrated Primary Care

Schedule: Part-time, flexible; approximately 2–4 hours per month to start, with opportunity to grow

About Us

TSG Health & Wellness is building an integrated primary care and behavioral health model designed to improve access to care for patients with medical and behavioral health needs. We are seeking a Psychiatric Consultant to support our Psychiatric Collaborative Care Model program for patients receiving care through our PA-led telehealth primary care team.

Position Summary

The Psychiatric Consultant will provide case consultation and treatment recommendations to the primary care treating provider and Behavioral Health Care Manager. This is a consultative role and does not require maintaining a direct therapy caseload. The consultant will typically not see patients directly or prescribe medications unless separately agreed upon.

This role is ideal for a psychiatrist or qualified psychiatric provider interested in flexible, remote, part-time consultation work with a growing integrated care program.

Responsibilities

Participate in scheduled case consultation meetings with the Behavioral Health Care Manager.
Review patient cases involving anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, medication concerns, and other mild-to-moderate behavioral health needs.
Provide psychiatric recommendations to support diagnosis, treatment planning, medication considerations, escalation needs, and referrals when appropriate.
Support the treating PA/primary care provider with clinical guidance while the PA remains responsible for direct medical decision-making.
Assist with identifying patients who may need a higher level of care or specialty psychiatric referral.
Document consultation recommendations according to agency workflow and compliance standards.
Support a collaborative, integrated-care approach between medical and behavioral health teams.

Qualifications

Psychiatrist, psychiatric physician, or psychiatric advanced practice provider with appropriate training and experience in psychiatry/behavioral health.
Active and unrestricted professional license.
Experience with anxiety, depression, trauma, medication management, and integrated care preferred.
Familiarity with the Psychiatric Collaborative Care Model preferred but not required.
Medicaid experience preferred.
Must be comfortable providing case consultation in a team-based care model.
Must maintain timely documentation and follow agency compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with primary care providers, PAs, or integrated care teams.
Experience with Medicaid populations.
Experience using validated screening tools such as PHQ-9 and GAD-7.
Comfortable with remote meetings and electronic documentation.

Compensation and Schedule

This is a flexible 1099 contract role starting at $125 per hour. Initial hours are expected to be approximately 2–4 hours per month, with the opportunity to increase as the program grows.
