Job Summary

Location: Chapel Hill, NC (onsite; transitioning to Timberlake, NC in Q4 2026)
Schedule: Full-time | Exempt

About the Role

Voltage is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement strategy, supplier management, and purchasing operations in support of our growing manufacturing organization. In this role, you will drive cost optimization, supplier performance, and supply chain resiliency while partnering closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning & Materials Control (PMC), Quality, Logistics, and Finance. You will play a critical role in ensuring materials and services are delivered on time, at the required quality, and at the best total cost.

What You’ll Do

Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and operational goals.
Monitor market trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities to support strategic sourcing decisions.
Build and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, cost competitiveness, and long-term performance.
Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, and commercial agreement development.
Develop contingency sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions.
Establish and improve procurement policies, procedures, and governance practices.
Drive procurement process improvements and system optimization initiatives.
Develop and track procurement KPIs, supplier scorecards, and cost-saving initiatives.
Maintain procurement documentation, supplier records, contracts, and purchasing data.
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, PMC, Logistics, and Finance to support production and new product introductions.
Support supplier audits, qualification activities, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive inventory optimization efforts while maintaining service and production requirements.
Analyze purchasing trends and supplier pricing to identify cost reduction opportunities.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning related to procurement activities.
Lead, develop, and mentor procurement team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of progressive procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
3+ years of leadership or people management experience.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing supply chain operations and procurement processes.
Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and supplier development.
Proven ability to manage supplier performance and drive cost reduction initiatives.
Strong analytical, financial, and business acumen with experience evaluating total cost of ownership and ROI.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, procurement analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (SAP preferred).
Experience in renewable energy, photovoltaic, electronics, or industrial manufacturing environments preferred.
Global sourcing and international supplier management experience preferred.
CPPM, CPSM, CPSD, or similar procurement certification preferred.
