Full Job Description

Oiles America Corporation makes the parts that keep vehicles moving smoothly — chances are, the car you drive today has Oiles mechanisms in it. We're a global company with a local approach to business, and we're seeking a Mold and Die Technician to join our team.

Who is Oiles America Corporation? Oiles is a Japanese owned manufacturing company established in 1976 to service and supply North America's automotive industry. Our Concord, North Carolina plant opened in 1991, producing quality components for today's leading automobile and heavy equipment manufacturers — including steering, exhaust, suspension, and hinge applications.

This full-time, on-site role provides technical support to manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production tooling — with primary emphasis on injection molds and dies — serving as the tool room's go-to expert on tooling maintenance and repair. Qualification Requirements

● High School Diploma or GED required; Tool and Die, Machinist, or related technical education preferred.

● Minimum of two years of machining and/or tool and die experience preferred.

● Background working with injection molds, machining, grinding, jig boring, lathe turning, and milling operations preferred.

● Manufacturing experience supporting production tooling and equipment preferred.

● Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance practices for production tooling.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

● Comprehensive knowledge of injection mold and die construction, maintenance practices, and tooling repair techniques.

● Working knowledge of machining processes including grinding, milling, lathe operation, heat treatment, and EDM machining.

● Thorough understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, tolerances, and precision measuring instruments.

● Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting tooling problems and implementing corrective actions.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business software applications.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with production personnel, engineers, and management.

Essential Functions

● Disassemble, inspect, service, repair, and reassemble injection molds and dies according to established maintenance schedules.

● Interpret tooling drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.

● Inspect, measure, troubleshoot, and evaluate molds and dies to identify wear, damage, and opportunities for improvement.

● Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and tool room personnel to diagnose tooling problems and implement repairs.

● Perform machining and fabrication activities including grinding, milling, turning, and related tooling processes.

● Complete digital work orders, maintenance records, reports, and related documentation accurately and timely.

● Perform preventive maintenance activities to extend tooling life and minimize unplanned production downtime.

● Support and implement tooling improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
