Facility Technician

LOCATION: Charleston, South Charleston

DEPARTMENT: Property Management – Daniel Island

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician will collaborate full time with the Chief Engineer and the management team at two class A office developments on Daniel Island. The technician is responsible for picking up trash around the campus, pressure washing, responding to facility services, light mechanical and preventive maintenance requests (plumbing, lighting, flooring, carpentry, painting), and assisting with the upkeep and repair of both client buildings in a fast-paced environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction as well as intermediate level set up and operation of small to large-scale audiovisual systems.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· A minimum of 2 years of related experience with hotel or property management.

· 1-2 years of customer service, event, audio visual experience is preferred with demonstrated results.

· Strong technical knowledge and well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina excelling in written and verbal communication.

· High School diploma required; some college, or college degree a plus.

· Experience in an office environment, preferably a customer facing and/or service role.

· Strong client focus – helpful, attentive, friendly, and approachable, with an ability to build solid relationships.

· Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

This role reports to the Chief Engineer and will work on two properties on Daniel Island. Additionally, the Maintenance technician will be added to the on-call rotation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of special event tables and chair set ups and small and intermediate audiovisual equipment.
Setup/support of meeting, training, office moves, new hires, and conference rooms according to the customer instruction/direction.
Check in with the Chief Engineer, Property Manager, and Office Services Manager throughout the week with updates.
Perform multiple repair and maintenance tasks throughout the day, which could include, but is not limited to: furniture repair, assembly and installation of sit/stand desks, installing monitor and docking stations at employee workstations, changing light bulbs throughout buildings and Co2 in the breakrooms, repairing restroom equipment, plumbing repairs, tighten cabinetry, painting, trouble-shooting flooring issues, and general facility repairs.
Complete a daily inspection of the lobbies, conference rooms, cafe, stairways, corridors, restrooms, entrances, mechanical/electrical rooms as well as the employee spaces. Replenish supplies.
Troubleshoot minor technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.
Complies with all Company and Client security and safety measures.
Follow all client Information Technology hardware and software.
Patrols the exterior and picks up cigarette butts, trash, etc. Uses the blower to blow off the front entries so they are cleaned each day, use pressure washer as needed.
Provide superior, world class customer service at all times. Be a welcoming point of contact for the client’s visitors, guests, and office staff. Promotes a positive work environment for the management team and the client.
Be available to work after hour events when requested and complete duties as assigned or emergency tasks.
