Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Supply Chain, OEE & Logistics Manager (Global Trade Specialist) to lead our end-to-end supply chain operations for a rapidly growing electric vehicle and powersports manufacturer. This role is responsible for managing international imports, complex logistic issues, customs compliance, warehouse logistics, inventory flow, and outbound dealer shipments to ensure products move efficiently from our overseas manufacturing partners to our customers throughout North America, while maintaining clear visibility and accurate tracking at every stage to supply our production line.
This role is the central point of coordination between overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouse operations and our production line.
In this pivotal role, you will drive compliance with global trade regulations, oversee freight, and ensure seamless coordination across supply chain functions. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete inbound supply chain from overseas manufacturers to our distribution facility.
- Coordinate ocean, air, rail, and domestic transportation.
- Monitor production schedules, shipment status, and inventory availability.
- Work closely with overseas suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
Customs & Import Compliance
- Manage all DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipments from origin through final delivery.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure smooth CBP clearance.
- Monitor U.S. Customs (CBP) requirements, tariffs, duties, and import regulations.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, HTS classifications, certificates of origin, and import documentation.
- Resolve customs holds, inspections, and shipment delays.
- Ensure compliance with all U.S. import regulations and maintain accurate import records.
Warehouse & Receiving Operations
- Oversee all incoming freight and receiving operations.
- Manage and support the receiving team.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through proper receiving and reconciliation.
- Coordinate warehouse scheduling and dock operations.
- Investigate receiving discrepancies, shortages, damages, and freight claims.
Outbound Logistics & Dealer Fulfillment
- Manage all outbound shipments to dealers, distributors, and customers.
- Coordinate LTL, FTL, parcel, and specialty freight carriers.
- Ensure orders ship accurately and on schedule.
- Optimize freight costs while maintaining excellent delivery performance.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to prioritize dealer shipments.
Inventory & Operations
- Monitor inventory movement throughout the supply chain.
- Develop logistics KPIs and performance metrics.
- Improve warehouse efficiency and transportation costs.
- Support inventory planning and purchasing activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and supply chain operations.
- Log, track, and maintain accurate records of overseas containers, parts, components, purchase requests, and warranty claims
- Monitor and track all domestic inbound and outbound shipments
- Track internal parts movement and maintain usage projections for key components
- Prepare clear tracking reports and lead regular logistics briefings with leadership and production teams
- Project, monitor, and proactively adjust shipment timelines to support production schedules
- Track finished product outbound shipments and coordinate carrier pickups
- Oversee overall internal logistical efficiency across the facility
- Coordinate and manage shipping dock activities including unloading, shipping, and uncrating
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or import/export management.
- Strong understanding of international shipping, Incoterms, and global transportation.
- Experience with DDP shipments, customs brokers, CBP regulations, tariffs, and import compliance.
- Experience managing warehouse receiving and shipping operations.
- Strong leadership experience supervising warehouse or logistics teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and inventory management software.
Preferred Experience
- Importing products from Asia.
- Manufacturing, automotive, golf cart, or powersports industries.
- Freight negotiation and carrier management.
- HTS classifications, customs compliance, and tariff management.
- Lean or continuous improvement experience.
Schedule Note
This position requires occasional early morning or evening communication with suppliers and partners in Asia. A flexible work schedule is available to accommodate these time-zone needs.
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in supply chain, logistics, or import/export operations (preferably with China or other Asian suppliers)
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple tracking systems simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while coordinating across production, purchasing, and warehouse teams
- Experience with container tracking, freight forwarding, and dock operations is highly preferred
