Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. This role requires proficiency in various cooking techniques, food safety practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, demonstrating strong knife skills.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service during peak hours.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering as needed.
Participate in catering events as required, ensuring high-quality presentation and service.
Provide support in training new kitchen staff on food handling procedures and cooking techniques.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
Experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings is preferred.
Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on meal preparation and cooking techniques.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus.
