Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Sales Associate and become the friendly face that welcomes customers into Bowman Ace Hardware! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while efficiently handling transactions and assisting customers with their shopping needs. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help create a positive shopping experience, encouraging repeat visits and fostering customer loyalty. Whether engaging in product demos, upselling, or maintaining the sales floor, your contribution is vital to our store’s success. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail skills, gain hands-on experience, and be part of a vibrant team dedicated to excellence.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their shopping journey
Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with integrity
Assist customers with product information, including conducting product demos when applicable
Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the sales floor looks inviting
Practice excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and efficient checkout processes
Conduct basic retail math calculations for transactions and inventory management tasks

Qualifications

Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with customers
Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures required
Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
Knowledge of hardware store operations or retail environment is beneficial but not mandatory
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting
