To provide a vibrant Student Life experience within the Residence Halls through planning and implementation of activities, supervision, and training of the residence hall staff, and advising to the Residence Hall Association. To help all students appreciate life and learning and contribute meaningfully to the lives of others.

Statement of duty/responsibility:

The Residence Life Coordinator is a key member of the Residence Life team, which consists of three full-time professional staff members and 22 student staff members. We are seeking a team-oriented, self-motivated individual who can work collaboratively while taking initiative in a dynamic student-centered environment.

Housing Operations

Understand all housing processes and assist Student staff with all housing paperwork and processes.
Coordinate summer conferences and camps housed within the residence halls.

Student Staff Recruitment, Supervision, and Development

Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, supervision, and evaluation of student staff working within Residence Life.
Organize and facilitate training for Resident Assistants (RAs), and Residence Hall Directors (RHDs). Resident Managers (RMs) report to the Director of Residence Life, but will participate in some all-staff training.
Collaborate with the Residence Life Director for ongoing staff development initiatives and training opportunities.
Assist the Director with assessing the developmental needs for all Residence Life student staff and coordinate appropriate training and development efforts.

Residence Hall Association (RHA) Advising

Serve as the advisor to the Residence Hall Association Activities
Attend RHA meetings and programs.
Assist in the development and implementation of programs in collaboration with other campus offices.
Collaborate with campus partners to enhance the residential student experience.

Student Engagement and Assessment

Act as a liaison between students and other campus offices to support student success and engagement.
Assist the Housing Office with assessing student satisfaction with residence hall services to promote an engaging campus environment that supports the integration of living and learning.
Work closely with Residence Life staff, students, and campus partners to coordinate high-quality programming practices.
Support the implementation of the department's programming model.
Make recommendations for future programming initiatives and Living and Learning Community structures.
Compile reports that reflect programming efforts across the Residence Life operation.

Student Conduct and Crisis Response

Assist in the development and implementation of residence hall and apartment policies and judicial practices.
Serve as a primary judicial officer for the Residence Life Office.
Maintain and update student judicial records using conduct management software.
Respond to and intervene in crises and campus policy incidents.
Serve as an on-call administrator for on-campus housing during evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Master's degree preferred.
Residence Life experience preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Live-on preference
