Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees.
Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.
With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

Adjunct instructor needed to teach Nursing Clinical classes using Cecil College Master Syllabus.
The term "Adjunct" has a very specific meaning. An Adjunct Faculty is a contract employee hired to teach specific course(s) during an academic term on a part-time basis. An Adjunct Faculty member is not eligible for benefits.
Details:
For a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30), the Adjunct Faculty Member shall serve as a part-time employee of the College.
Adjunct Faculty may teach no more than 26 credit hours per fiscal year.
Adjunct faculty will receive a master adjunct contract, as well as course specific contract. Each course specific contract shall list: 1) the Adjunct Faculty members name, employee number, address and phone number; and 2) the course number, course title, number of credit hours, start date, end date, account code and the payment amount.
As an instructor, the Adjunct Faculty member's duties are to:
- Convey the course material so that students canattainthe instructionalobjectivesof the course.

If requested to do so by the Department Chairperson, complete acourseassessment for courses taught under the terms of this contract.

Ensure that all course material is available tostudentsthe first day of class via Cecil College’s Learning Management system.

Meet program specific requirements for employment and supervision of students in any externship or capstone course.

Hold classes for the full amount of time specified. Notify the AcademicAffairsOffice if there is an urgent reason to miss class.

Bereasonably accessibleto students via email or in person, return students’ assignmentsin a timely manner.

Hold office hours before or after class, a minimum of 30 minutes per week.Advisingmodality should match teaching modality

Facilitate quality learning experiences for students.

Develop and implement classroom lesson plans and learning activities, including but not limitedto;lectures, videos, demonstrations, and role-play.

Use the College’s Academic Monitoring and Learning Management System to document attendance and grades per Cecil College procedures. Submit grades and all otherendof the semester documentationin a timely manner.

- A minimum of five full-time years working as a registered nurse in the content area. Teaching and simulation experience preferred.

Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these skills.

- Physical Demands: This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools.Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing arerequiredoccasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met
- Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations and traffic signals when driving
