Front Desk Coordinator
High-Performance Wellness Clinic | Long-Term Career Opportunity
Location: North Liberty, Iowa
Pay: $18–$22/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Read This Before You Apply
Some people are looking for their next job.
We're looking for someone searching for their next home.
Iowa Wellness Center is looking for an exceptional Front Desk Coordinator who is dependable, positive, motivated, organized, and genuinely enjoys people.
You are the first voice patients hear on the phone and one of the first faces they see when they walk through our doors. We want someone who smiles naturally, starts conversations easily, remembers patients, makes people feel welcome, and brings positive energy into the office.
Just as importantly, your team needs to be able to count on you.
If you have a history of frequently calling in, arriving late, changing jobs every few months, or losing interest once the excitement of a new job wears off, this position will probably not be a good fit.
If you're looking for somewhere you can stay, grow, become an important part of a team, and build a career, keep reading.
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
- Has a proven track record of reliability, excellent attendance, and punctuality
- Is looking for a long-term position, not a temporary stop
- Naturally smiles and enjoys talking with people
- Can comfortably start and carry a conversation with almost anyone
- Is excellent on the phone and communicates professionally
- Can make a nervous or frustrated patient feel comfortable
- Is energetic, upbeat, and brings a positive attitude to work
- Is highly organized and can handle several things happening at once
- Is a fast learner
- Is computer savvy and comfortable learning new software
- Understands Google Workspace, spreadsheets, email, scheduling systems, and basic office technology
- Notices what needs to be done and takes action without constantly being told
- Accepts coaching and constructive feedback
- Takes ownership when something goes wrong
- Thinks about solutions rather than excuses
- Enjoys being part of a high-performing team
- Wants to grow personally and professionally
- Takes pride in doing things correctly and following through
What You'll Be Doing
This is much more than answering phones and checking people in.
You'll help create the patient experience from the first phone call through every visit.
Your responsibilities will include greeting patients and making them feel welcome, answering phones with energy and professionalism, scheduling and confirming appointments, managing multiple schedules, collecting payments, communicating treatment next steps, maintaining accurate patient information, managing paperwork, helping maintain smooth patient flow, communicating with clinical staff, learning multiple computer programs, maintaining HIPAA compliance, solving day-to-day patient concerns, and helping the clinic stay organized and on schedule.
There will be times when the phone is ringing, patients are checking in, someone needs to schedule an appointment, and a team member needs something from you—all at the same time.
Being able to prioritize, stay calm, smile, and keep moving is essential.
This Position Is Probably NOT For You If...
You frequently call off work or have difficulty arriving on time; your resume shows a pattern of leaving positions after only a few months without a reasonable explanation; you prefer working alone and don't enjoy talking with people; you become overwhelmed when several things happen at once; you need constant reminders to complete tasks; you dislike accountability or constructive feedback; you're uncomfortable learning technology; or you're simply looking for something to do until another opportunity comes along.
We're not expecting perfection.
We are expecting consistency, accountability, communication, and effort.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of customer service, front desk, administrative, hospitality, sales, or similar experience preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Comfortable with Google Workspace and spreadsheets
- Excellent verbal communication
- Professional phone skills
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work on-site in North Liberty
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Healthcare experience is helpful but not required. We would rather train a dependable, energetic person with an exceptional attitude than hire someone with healthcare experience who doesn't fit our culture.
What You'll Gain
This is an opportunity to build a career with a growing wellness clinic—not simply occupy a front desk.
We offer:
- Competitive pay of $18–$22/hour based on experience
- Full-time Monday–Friday schedule
- Major holidays off
- Health insurance available

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS — READ CAREFULLY
Please do not send us only a resume.
We receive many applications, and these questions help us identify candidates who are genuinely interested in becoming a long-term member of our team.
To be considered, start your application with:
"I'm looking for my next home, not my next job."
Then answer these 5 questions:
1. What is the longest you have worked for one employer?
What was your position, how long were you there, and why did you stay?
2. Tell us about your last three jobs.
How long were you at each one, and why did you leave?
3. Reliability is extremely important in this position.
In the last 12 months of employment, approximately how many scheduled workdays did you unexpectedly miss?
4. Why are you looking for a new position now, and what would make you want to stay with your next employer for 3–5+ years?
5. Imagine the following situation:
The phone is ringing, a patient walks through the door, another patient is waiting to schedule their next appointment, and a clinical team member asks you a question.
What would you do first, second, third, and fourth—and why?
Applications that do not follow these instructions will not move forward.
