Full Job Description

Controller – North America

Location: Little Rock, Arkansas
Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt

An expanding North American manufacturing company is in search of a skilled Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and manufacturing cost accounting at various facilities.

The successful candidate will supervise the accounting team and collaborate closely with plant management, commercial teams, and corporate finance to enhance financial discipline, improve reporting accuracy, facilitate operational decision-making, and ensure audit readiness.

Key Duties

Manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, cost accounting, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and ensure timely, precise financial reporting.
Establish and uphold accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures in line with U.S. GAAP.
Work with plant and commercial leaders on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost control, and profitability reporting.
Supervise standard costing, inventory reconciliations, rate studies, product-line analysis, and financial reporting across multiple sites.
Oversee external audits, tax filings, regulatory reporting, and audit-readiness activities.
Present financial outcomes, risks, trends, and business opportunities to senior management.
Assist in ERP implementations and finance-process enhancement projects.
Lead, develop, and ensure the accounting team's performance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
CPA and/or master’s degree preferred.
15–20 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of three years in a supervisory or leadership position.
Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, manufacturing cost accounting, financial modeling, and multi-site consolidations.
Experience overseeing external audits.
ERP knowledge required; SAP experience strongly preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Excellent executive communication skills, analytical abilities, problem-solving capabilities, and team-building expertise.
