Full Job Description

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and at least one of the following: Early Childhood or Early Childhood Special Education certificate, current Child Development Associate’s certificate, current Birth to Pre-K credential, or documented experience working with special needs children and 12 hours of completed college courses in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education, or child and family studies.

Objective: : To develop and oversee ITPs and supervise delivery of habilitative services. To approve written behavior management plans for clients exhibiting challenging behaviors. To guide parents and staff through the entire referral and admissions process in a timely manner. To provide the Billing Department with financial screening information, gather daily data and manage accurate and current records on funding eligibility of all clients

Job Summary: The Early Childhood Development Specialist/Service Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Children's Services Program Director, initiates and maintains the referral/intake/admissions process, assists parents with the admissions process, ensure that insurance eligibility of all clients are kept current, serves as the liaison to the billing department, assists in the creation and maintenance of accurate and current admissions records, develops client service plans, assist with establishment and maintenance of all clients files, assist classroom and certified staff with coordination of client services. Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

Duties, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

A) Knowledgeable regarding all admission, Early Intervention and age three to five procedures and maintain continuing education training.
B) Must be a Certified Service Coordinator.
C) Knowledge of the current philosophy and methodology for serving individuals with developmental disabilities in the community setting.
D) Knowledge of developmental delay/early intervention treatment theory, principals, programs and practices. Knowledge of due process procedures.
E) Knowledge of agency and community resources for services of the developmentally delayed children and their families.
F) Ability to create and assist with developmental and implementation of Individual Service Plans for each child and his or her family.
G) Will perform administrative duties as necessary.

Salary is commensurate of experience.
