Our products are manufactured in South Carolina and include:
- Commercial sofas and sleeper sofas
- Lounge chairs and loveseats

We serve hotels, resorts, property management companies, vacation rental portfolios, multifamily and student housing developments, senior living communities, universities, interior designers, purchasing groups, and other commercial clients throughout the United States.
As Johnson Furniture continues to expand, we are looking for motivated sales professionals who want to grow alongside an established American manufacturer.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated, commission-based Sales Representative to develop new commercial accounts and grow Johnson Furniture's presence throughout the United States.
This is a remote, results-driven sales position designed for someone who enjoys prospecting, building relationships, and closing business.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable identifying new opportunities, reaching decision-makers, developing long-term client relationships, and generating repeat business.
Unlike a traditional retail furniture sales position, this role is focused on B2B relationship development and commercial project sales.
Potential customers include:
- Hotel ownership and management companies
- Hotel developers
- Resorts
- Procurement and purchasing groups
- Interior design firms
- Property management companies
- Multifamily developers
- Student housing operators
- Senior living groups
- Vacation rental management companies
- Restaurants and commercial developers
- General contractors and project managers
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new commercial sales opportunities.
- Prospect potential clients through phone, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and industry relationships.
- Build relationships with hotel owners, management companies, developers, designers, purchasing teams, and other decision-makers.
- Introduce prospective clients to Johnson Furniture's manufacturing capabilities and product portfolio.
- Identify upcoming hotel renovations, new construction projects, property refreshes, and other furniture opportunities.
- Develop opportunities for both individual projects and larger portfolio-wide purchasing relationships.
- Work with customers to understand project requirements, quantities, specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate with Johnson Furniture's internal team to develop pricing, quotes, samples, and proposals.
- Follow up consistently on quotes and opportunities to move projects toward purchase orders.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, active opportunities, proposals, and follow-ups.
- Develop long-term relationships that generate repeat projects and ongoing account revenue.
- Represent Johnson Furniture professionally with customers and industry partners.
- Stay informed about hospitality development, renovations, new construction, and other opportunities within assigned markets.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a self-driven salesperson and relationship builder, not someone who needs a heavily structured day-to-day environment.
Successful candidates will be:
- Highly motivated and comfortable working independently.
- Confident prospecting and generating their own opportunities.
- Persistent without being overly aggressive.
- Comfortable communicating with executives, owners, designers, developers, and procurement professionals.
- Organized with strong follow-up habits.
- Comfortable managing a sales pipeline remotely.
- Able to understand customer needs and translate those needs into furniture solutions.
- Interested in building long-term customer relationships rather than simply making one-time sales.
- Motivated by a performance-based compensation structure.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Hospitality sales
- Commercial furniture
- FF&E
- Hotel procurement
- Interior design
- Furniture manufacturing
- Multifamily or student housing
- Property management
- Commercial construction
- Hotel development
- Architecture and design
- B2B outside sales
- Manufacturer representative sales
Existing relationships within the hospitality, design, development, or commercial real estate industries are a significant advantage.
However, direct furniture experience is not required for the right candidate with a proven ability to prospect, build relationships, and close B2B sales.
Compensation
This is a commission-based sales position with significant income potential directly tied to performance.
The position is designed to reward representatives for developing new accounts, generating profitable sales, and building recurring customer relationships.
Specific commission structure and payment terms will be discussed during the interview process.
Because many of our customers complete renovations, new developments, and furniture replacements on an ongoing basis, successful representatives have the opportunity to develop a portfolio of repeat commercial customers rather than relying solely on one-time transactions.
Why Sell for Johnson Furniture? American-Made Product
Our furniture is manufactured in South Carolina, giving customers an alternative to long overseas supply chains and imported furniture.
Established Company
Johnson Furniture has been manufacturing furniture since 1947 and brings decades of experience to the commercial furniture industry.
Broad Product Offering
Representatives have multiple ways to generate business—from sofas and sleeper sofas to chairs, banquettes, draperies, cornices, cushions, custom furniture, and renovation programs.
Large Potential Customers
A single relationship with a hotel ownership group, management company, designer, developer, or property management company can create opportunities across multiple properties and projects.
Repeat Business Potential
Our goal is not simply to sell one furniture order. We want to become a long-term manufacturing partner for our customers.
Growing Company
Johnson Furniture is actively expanding beyond its traditional Southeast customer base and developing relationships with commercial customers throughout the United States.
Remote Flexibility
This position can be performed remotely, allowing successful representatives to build and manage their territory while being supported by our manufacturing and administrative team in South Carolina.
Who Will Succeed in This Role?
This opportunity is best suited for someone who thinks like a business developer.
You should be comfortable opening doors, creating relationships where none previously existed, following opportunities for months when necessary, and recognizing that one strong account can develop into years of recurring business.
If you already have relationships within hospitality, interior design, hotel development, procurement, multifamily, property management, or commercial real estate, this position offers an opportunity to monetize those relationships while representing an established American manufacturer.
If you are motivated by building your own book of business and want your income to be directly connected to the results you generate, we would like to hear from you.
